Learn about UVM’s six-month, hands-on Farmer Training Program that provides experiential, skills-based education in sustainable farming.

The University of Vermont’s Farmer Training Program is for aspiring farmers and food systems advocates. Students will get a unique and comprehensive education by running all aspects of the 10-acre Catamount Educational Farm, learning from expert farmers and educators in the classroom, and alongside successful, inspiring farmers in the Burlington area.

Join this informational webinar to hear more about the program. We’ll look at what a typical week in life on the farm looks like and find out what students did after completing the program.

Rosey comes from a long line of farmers on her Tongan side so, in a sense, entering FTP was both a leap forward and a return home. Coming into the program, Rosey was especially excited about flower and medicinal herb farming for the purposes of healing. She was also eager to learn more about regenerative approaches that intersect with anti-oppressive practices and, more broadly speaking, the bigger picture of farming within the context of today's world. Rosey will continue her farming path this coming season at Crespell, a flower farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
